Abstract Submissions Open for Research Day 2019

Attendees from Research Day 2018

Attendees from Research Day 2018Date:  May 3, 2019
Location: Arcadian Court (401 Bay Street - Simpson Tower, 8th floor), Toronto

This year's Research Day will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Arcadian Court on the corner of Bay and Queen. The Abstract submission portal is now open and will close on Monday, February 18, 2019. We strongly encourage all of our trainees to participate and submit their work to share with the entire department! Trainees affiliated with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are eligible for poster and oral presentation on Research Day.

Am I eligibile?

  • The first author must be a trainee affiliated with the department/supervised by a primary or cross-appointed ObGyn faculty member (clinical fellow, resident, post-doctoral fellow, graduate student, summer/undergraduate student) and should have performed most of the work to be presented.
  • The first author must be able to attend Research Day and present the work.
  • Due to space/time constraints, trainees should submit only one abstract as first/presenting author. An exception to this rule is when a trainee has completed more than one project as the lead, and the topics of the projects are different and supervised by different faculty members.
  • If a trainee’s work is completed or sufficiently advanced, we encourage them to consider requesting an oral/podium presentation. Podium presentations are limited in number and those abstracts wishing to be considered will be reviewed by the research committee at large. This option should be discussed with the trainee’s research supervisor.

How do I participate?

Step 1: Register to attend Research Day

Step 2: Submit your abstract for Research Day

  • In the conference application, please indicate which type of presentation you would like to do when submitting your abstract for consideration. Up to 12 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. All abstracts have to be approved for presentation by the supervisor. Please reference the appropriate guidelines for your presentation:

If you have any questions regarding eligibility, please contact us at obgyn.research@utoronto.ca.
