Dr. Abbasi undertook both her medical school and residency training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at McGill University, followed by a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine at the University of Toronto and has recently completed a MSc. degree at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, with a focus on Quality Improvement and Patient safety. She is currently practicing as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital, with a focus on fetal diagnosis and therapy. Her research and clinical interests centre on improving standardization and quality assurance in obstetrical ultrasound, simulation and other educational methods to enhance training in fetal therapy and development of local and international outreach projects to improve access and standards in women's imaging.
