Dr. Wolfman and colleagues accepting awardsThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is pleased to announce that Dr. Wendy Wolfman (Professor) was recently elected as the president of the Canadian Menopause Society. Dr. Wolfman, who is a menopause specialist, was also presented with the Society's Trailblazer Award at their biannual meeting in Toronto.

"I am very honoured to become the President of the Canadian Menopause Society and to receive the Trailblazer award in recognition of our unique fellowship in Mature Women's Health as well as the establishment of the first clinical chair in Mature Women's Health," said Dr. Wolfman.

"Moving forward, I envisage the Canadian Menopause Society providing educational and clinical leadership in the care of this segment of society, who are making up an increasing proportion of the Canadian population. Women spend one-third or more of their lives in menopause. Our goal is to ensure that the health needs of this group of women are championed, and treatable symptomatology is addressed in order to improve women's quality of life."

Congratulations to Dr. Wolfman!
