Headshot of Dr. Delpero

Headshot of Dr. DelperoThe Department is proud to announce that one of our residents has received the Peters-Boyd Academy Resident Teaching Award for 2020. Dr. Emily Delpero, a fourth-year resident, was awarded for demonstrating exceptional teaching and mentorship to medical students from the Peters-Boyd Academy at the University of Toronto. This award, which is nominated by medical students, demonstrates the impact that trainees like Dr. Delpero can make on the next generation of physicians.

"I feel very lucky to be learning to teach amidst so many great educators at U of T," said Dr. Delpero. "I have learned a lot from watching my teachers and trying (sometimes successfully and sometimes unsuccessfully!) to emulate them. My resident colleagues are also a constant source of inspiration. It is a privilege to be part of a student’s journey, and I am really looking forward to continuing to be a tutor in the future."

Congratulations on this wonderful achievement!
