Dr. Roopan Gill completed her medical school training at the University of Toronto, residency at the University of Ottawa and fellowship in Family Planning at UBC. She received her MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, worked as a medical officer with the WHO Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health Research and currently is a consultant with the WHO. She currently sits on the WHO Secretariat to update the WHO Safe Abortion guidance and is leading a digital decision support tool project to improve usability of the WHO guidance. Dr.Gill also works as an emergency obstetrician for MSF, with field missions in Nigeria and Yemen and most recently will join MSF as Medical Advisor. She is a recipient of a number of grants to support her work that intersects family planning, digital health and humanitarian/development contexts with a project currently in Venezuela.
