After completing her post-graduate training at Queen’s University and the University of Toronto, Dr. Mary Cheng has been practising obstetrics and gynaecology for the last 20 years. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgery of Canada and Member of Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has been involved in various clinical trials such as the multi-centre randomized double-blinded clinical trial in the management of breech presentation at term. 

She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and is experienced in performing hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical procedures. She is an Adjunct Lecturer of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Toronto, providing clinical and surgical skills training for residents and medical students, as well as an examiner for the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Medicine. She has also been a Peer Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario since 2006, reporting to the CPSO after assessing the practices of other obstetricians and gynaecologists who work in both the community and other academic facilities. Since 1999, she has been a volunteer in providing services for various education and medical aid programs in different countries including China, Myanmar and Cambodia.
